Nurturing the potential of every child and teen.

We believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. At the Y, children and teens learn values and positive behaviors that makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Aquatics at the Y

Swimming is a lifetime fitness activity. We teach the nationally recognized Y swim program. We have a staff of certified guards and instructors who are experience in teaching both children and adults aquatic skills and personal safety. We can help you learn to swim whatever your age or ability, as well as, increase you or your child's safety level in and around the water.

Youth Swim Lessons
Our staff work to promote aquatics readiness, and to teach parents how to guide their children through the water and how to be safe around the water. The Y Swim Lesson program lays a good foundation of basic aquatic skills and safety. At each level, participants are involved in activities related to the five components of: personal safety, personal growth, stroke development, water games and sports and rescues. We use guided discovery methods and focus on both stroke competence and building endurance.

Last year at our Y, over 1,200 children were taught how to swim at the Y. In addition to our swim lessons, we have a variety of adult water exercise classes, as well as a winter and summer competitive swim team.
