Dear Cumberland Cape Atlantic Y Members,
I am writing to inform our members about our temporary policy regarding pool operations. Due to issues with the heating system in our pool area, the air temperature may occasionally drop below 70 degrees. For the safety and comfort of our members and staff, we will need to close the pool whenever this occurs.
Unfortunately, the system for maintaining proper air temperature is no longer functioning correctly. Replacement parts are required to resolve this issue, and the cost of those parts and labor are estimated to be north of $12,000. While our Board of Directors has approved for this expenditure, it will take time to procure and install the necessary components. We hoped to move this process expeditiously however, the parts to our aging system are no longer available so alternatives had to be found.
To keep everyone informed, we will provide updates about pool closures through our YMCA360 App and social media channels. We encourage you to turn on notifications for these platforms to receive timely updates. You can also call our front desk at 856-691-0030 for the latest information regarding the pool’s availability.
